Filmfare award winning playback - singer, performing artist and singer-songwriter, Shakthi has worked extensively with reputed composers in the Indian Film Music Industry - Oscar and Grammy winning composer A.R.Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander, Harris Jeyaraj, Santosh Narayanan to name a few, working in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Shakthi received her big break with the song ‘Nenjukulle’ composed by A.R.Rahman for the Mani Ratnam movie ‘Kadal'. The song went on to become a viral sensation following its premiere on the MTV Unplugged India Edition special with the legendary ‘Mozart of Madras’ Mr. A.R. Rahman.

Apart from being a playback-singer and recording artist in the Indian Film Music Industry, Shakthi is also an independent artist. As a composer, producer and singer - songwriter, Shakthi has been releasing her original music and collaborative projects independently, and performing at live concerts through the years.

Shakthisree Gopalan is also an architect, loves drawing and is an avid traveller.
