An architect by profession, trained in the Carnatic style of singing, Shakthishree Gopalan’s musical influences are varied and draw their rooots from Jazz, RnB, Trip-Hop, Easy-listening, Rock and Psychedellic rock. Her biggest inspirations and musical influences include, A.R.Rahman, Nina Simone, Norah Jones, U2, Alexi Murdoch, Bon Iver,
Coldplay & John Mayer.
With a love for experimenting with music, Shakthi has been writing songs since 2007 and has been releasing her own original music online. Shakthi has been producing & releasing songs as a solo artist and as a featuring artist collaborating with many independent artists and bands. She has been seen featuring in collaborative performances and with her own bands over the years writing and performing original and cover music.

I dream of a day when women in our society will be truly liberated from the bondage and shackles of social stigma, sexism, unfair expectations and inequality. Modern societies ought to collectively strive towards building better and safer environments for women to thrive in. Must a woman forever be selfless? This song is dedicated to every woman who's ever had to sacrifice her dreams to enable another's to materialise.
